Rossi Group is PennDOT in implementing ITS in the US 1 corridor in Delaware County with intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to achieve federal congestion and air quality goals by improving traffic flow for the corridor. The air quality project goals are to help reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and reduce emissions.
Our contributions include:
- the deployment of CCTV, DMS and Travel Time Systems and the installation of fiber optic cable to expand PennDOT’s existing communications network.
- Modernization and integration of traffic signal systems to allow for Unified Command and Control from the PennDOT Southeastern Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC).
- The design and installation of a dedicated left turn lane at the SR 252 interchange.
- Developing a Systems Engineering Report along with conceptual plans in accordance with the USDOT Systems Engineering Guidebook for ITS.
