Office Engineer or Construction Bookkeeper (Full-time)
Reporting Location: Annapolis, MD (Bay Bridge)
Rossi Group has an immediate opening for an Office Engineer with experience in construction bookkeeping, document control, quantity and payment tracking, and general construction administration for heavy construction projects.
The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in the administration of heavy construction and maintenance projects including roadway and bridge, maintenance operations, signing, and traffic infrastructure construction. Knowledge of basic mathematics, accounting practices, construction payment and tracking methods and techniques, document control, and knowledge of eMCMS and Excel software is preferred.
Qualifications:

High School degree or GED is required.

Valid Driver’s License.

Two (2) years of experience in administration of construction projects.

Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and computers.

Ability to maintain records and adapt to the record systems.
Preference May Be Given For:
-
Transportation or heavy construction-related experience
-
Experience working with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT)
-
Experience working with Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT)
Position Responsibilities:
-
Coordinating and communicating with other team members along with consultant personnel in the preparation and processing of correspondence and construction documents. This position provides administrative support for construction and office personnel.

Working with the eMCMS and/or Unifier management system.
-
IDR/quantity tracking and database management.

Basic Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)

Writing Skills and communication with Contractors and State Employees.

Document Control and understanding payment procedures is a plus.
Anticipated Wage and Benefits:
This is a Non-exempt; full-time; 40 hours per week; (Monday through Friday) position. Overtime and nighttime work may occur. Rossi Group provides full benefits including 401k and profit sharing. This position offers an anticipated salary range of $25/hr. to $28/hr. depending on experience, certifications, and abilities. Nighttime differential is paid, and all overtime is paid at 1.5 times the pay rate. Mileage reimbursement for on-site work. Fringe benefits including bonuses and commuter mileage are negotiable.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Employees are required to work in the field during survey and inspection assignments, with exposure to varying weather conditions and rough terrain, and the requirements for walking, standing, bending, and lifting loads weighing up to 80 pounds.

• Work requires the employee to be onsite at client offices in MD and/or DE.

Required hand-eye coordination for the efficient operation of computers and other office machines, survey equipment, and field equipment.
